StirLIN liquid nitrogen plant for the German research vessel Maria S. Merian.
Stirling Cryogenics has supplied a StirLIN liquid nitrogen plant which was installed on the German research vessel Maria S. Merian. This research ship is operated by the German Institute for Marine Sciences and sails around the world for marine research.

The liquid nitrogen plant makes the scientist on board completely independent of the LN2 supply required for their scientific research. Large quantities of LN2 need no longer to be stored for longer journeys at sea. Logistic problems associated with LN2 supply in remote harbors are no longer a cause for delay thus increasing the number of days at sea.
